B.O.X_Y_Z: New threads & ideas

Recorder player Olivia Petryszak and cellist Anna Litvinenko met last autumn at CASA SAGA during the B.O.X_Y-Z residency (https://boxbaroque.com/box_y_z), which ignited a musical relationship based on collaborative composition and improvisation. This week, they have come together once again to continue their collaboration and prepare an open sharing of their work this Friday 11th of April at CASA SAGA. They will be
joined on stage (and off!) by Uruguayan composer and guitarist Guzmán Calzada Llorente with some compositions and moments of improvisation. The theme of the evening will be the stories one can create with thread.

Anna and Guzmán will present their work inspired by medieval stitching techniques used in the 11th century Bayeux Tapestry, a masterpiece made with tremendous detail and an impressive sense of storytelling, measuring nearly 70 meters in length. They have created a musical embroidery with the combined
sounds of their instruments and composed monodic lines. The rest of the evening will feature works and improvisations by Olivia, Anna and Guzmán that revolve around musical threads creating lines, shapes and colours through sound.
